Halo Anime

An interview with Frank O’Connor, Halo franchise development director, was included with the press release I received yesterday from the Halo team. Since Frank is such a great guy (I fortunately had the chance to talk with him during Comic-Con), I thought I should post his words.

Rainbow was another anime with a high profile at this year’s Tokyo Anime Fair. Following the lives of seven boys from reform school to their later release, this post-World War II series has all the makings of a good war drama. From what I’ve seen, this show is worthy of laudation.

Bleach Season 4

Strike Witches Season 1

In the world of Strike Witches, Hitler did not invade Poland in 1939. No, an invasion of a different sort occurred. The mysterious Neuroi invaded the Earth, obliterating much of the world’s landmass. And with the current aerial technology unable to stop their ships, the human race turned to a combination of technology and magic. Enter the “striker unit;” a pair of cybernetic leggings that allow its owner to fly like a fighter plane! But not just anyone can operate a striker unit. Only a witch can pilot this advanced technology. And I suppose, in this race to save the planet, it doesn’t hurt that the girls of the 501^st squadron have an aversion to wearing pants! Maybe it’s a fashion statement. Maybe it’s the constant need to strap on these units and protect humanity. Either way, the 1940’s have never been so leggy! 

Eden

All three Eden of the East movies (The King of Eden, Paradise Lost, and Air Communication) penned and directed by Kenji Kamiyama are now in the hands of FUNimation. The release date is set for 2011.

Corrupt businessmen, profiteers, and criminals plague the ailing city of Nekota, the new target of modernization. But between the desires for a quick buck and techy shopping centers, an uncanny force is overtaking the streets: Grasshopper. This vigilante militia, led by Inukai, opposes all progress and claims to protect Nekota from this emerging wave of pillaging forces.  Nevertheless, for teenage Ando, something is not right about Inukai and Grasshopper. Using his ability to make others say what he’s thinking, he’s intent on uncovering Inukai’s true motive.
