The mental offspring of Casio Entertainment and legendary director Shinji Aramaki, “The Package” follows the iconic Master Chief as he and four select Spartans stealthily penetrate the Covenant fleet to acquire dire intelligence.

This is your last chance to see the Halo Legends anime preview on Halo Waypoint and Xbox LIVE. On Saturday January 2^nd the final preview episode will run for 24-hours. Remember, DVD, Blu-Ray, and digital formats will be released on February 16^th 2010.

It’s no surprise that recent anime pop culture has been Death Note’s bitch. Dan Brown wishes he could write a detective yarn as intelligently intricate and pleasurably discombobulating. The story of the impromptu murderer Light Yagami, a.k.a Kira, his supporting Shinigami Ryuk, the Death Note empowering him to kill by simply writing a name, and his ultimate battle of wits with the genius detective L has consumed the world like Kate and Leo’s Titanic. And even if we didn’t have the edible Misa to accompany this ensemble, Light’s devotee and a Lolita that would have made Nabokov sweat, this story is rather perfect. Who doesn’t love the hunt for a killer, one teeming with anxiety and nearly insolvable riddles? 

Reborn! 15

As the remaining heir to the Vongola crime family, Tsuna has an unwanted destiny. He will be the next Family boss. Reborn, an infant assassin from Italy, is thus sent to train this unwilling, Mafia neophyte. Using the method of the “Deathperation bullet,” Tsuna will have the chance to transform himself into a stronger and more focused teenager.

Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood

Essentially a recasting of the original story found in the manga of Hiromu Arakawa, the Elric brothers are back on the journey to find a magical artifact that will heal their bodies. Remember, their first experiment with alchemy, a failed bid to revive their dead mother, left Edward with deformed limbs and Alphonse’s soul permanently inhabiting a suit of armor. 

Ninja Destiny 2

Following the Shippuden plot from its inception to the reunion of Naruto and Sasuke, this game is an apt blend of RPG and fighting play. Story mode allows you to fight your way through the story arc, yet not get slowed down by excessively long periods of dialogue. And if you master story mode, quest mode, with thirty different levels will further test your jutsu prowess.

Mushi-Shi: The Movie

Based on the popular anime/manga series of the same name – whose lush artistry equally matches the verdant vitality of nature itself – this live-action version is a much-welcomed adaptation. Writer/director Katsuhiro Otomo captures the very being of Ginko’s tale through scenes inundated with the light and dark of Japan’s countryside.
