Eden of the East

On November 22, 2010 ten missiles strike uninhabited portions of Tokyo. He has no memory, he’s naked, and he’s only carrying a gun and a cell phone. Ninja Destiny 2

Following the Shippuden plot from its inception to the reunion of Naruto and Sasuke, this game is an apt blend of RPG and fighting play. Story mode allows you to fight your way through the story arc, yet not get slowed down by excessively long periods of dialogue. And if you master story mode, quest mode, with thirty different levels will further test your jutsu prowess.

FUNimation

Rainbow was another anime with a high profile at this year’s Tokyo Anime Fair. Following the lives of seven boys from reform school to their later release, this post-World War II series has all the makings of a good war drama. From what I’ve seen, this show is worthy of laudation.

Back to School Night

Going down every third thursday of the month, I just started attending Tune in Tokyo events in August. Located in Little Tokyo, this is the perfect place for anime fans, gamers, cosplayers, and J-fashionistas to mingle and have fun.

Tokyo Anime Fair

According to the event coordinators, 132,492 people attended this year’s TAF. From the lines I witnessed, as well as the often body odor paved walkways, the exhibition hall was indeed swelling at all times. Be that as it may, the global economy lurks. The fair was noticeably smaller than in previous years. 

Evangelion 2.0

Viz Cinema, the nation’s only theatre dedicated to Japanese film is starting 2011 off right! It’s no secret, the rebooted Evangelion series is spot on: a more coherent story line, less tangential madness and seemingly disconnected imagery – for better or worse, the kind long associated with creator Hideaki Anno.
