THE ANIMATION PROCESS- WORKING WITH THUMBNAILS BEFORE THE ANIMATION BEGINS

Here I am hip deep in GACKS and MIMIS. The dark side of the force has tried to lure me to its side. “Go ahead…just start animating.” It whispers. “No one will know. Crank out that footage and just get it done.”

Gack visits BIFF

As mentioned previously, the BIFF screening schedule is not for the faint of heart. There are Beaufortonians that have seen EVERY film at all four BIFF festivals since its inception. This year over 4000 people watched the films and attended the Festival’s events.

The Animation Winter Wonderland Tour was interrupted  by my crashed hard drive.

The animation masterclass I taught at Bloomfield was wonderful!

Next up the Savannah International Animation Festival.

MOTHER NATURE INTERVENED WITH A VENGEANCE!!!

 A barrage of wind and rain attacked the school. Water poured in from a bank of windows and the wind gave an added dimension to the end of the 2D film.

 Then the lights went out!

Even though the New Year has begun, it’s not too late to think about a few resolutions… animation and otherwise…

We are entering PETE in festivals to take advantage of her shelf life. In the meantime, I am working on other projects - preproduction and scripts.

IT WAS A GREAT NIGHT!

Here is some footage I took at the premiere of PETE’S ODYSSEY. It has the students, Michelle Armstrong singing and a snippet from PETE - shot off the screen.

WHAT A NIGHT THAT WAS!!! An event we will remember for years. For me it was gratifying to see the students again. When you do a project like this you tend to form bonds with your co-workers.

The premiere of PETE’S ODYSSEY went extremely well last Friday night, October 9th at Bloomsfield College in New Jersey. It has taken me a week to come back to Earth and resume my daily tasks.  Here's a "making of" video clip.
