WATCH: ILM’s Patrick Tubach Talks ‘Star Wars’ & More at FMX 2016

Industrial Light & Magic VFX supervisor Patrick Tubach discusses the blend of practical and digital effects created for ‘Star Wars: The Force Awakens’ at FMX 2016.

With FMX 2016 wrapping in Stuttgart, Germany, here is the first video from AWN’s 2016 FMX Professional Spotlight series featuring interviews with some of the biggest names in visual effects, computer graphics and transmedia.

Industrial Light & Magic VFX supervisor Patrick Tubach, part of the Oscar-nominated team responsible for creating the spectacular visual effects for Star Wars: The Force Awakens, sat down with AWN editor-in-chief Dan Sarto during FMX 2016 to discuss the film’s blend of practical and digital effects, which were used in nearly 2,100 of the of the movie’s 2,500 shots.
