A Last Look at MIMI AND GACK and the Incubator Studio Ends… for now.

Well, I am back in Savannah (for now). The Incubator Studio ended and I sadly said “goodbyes” to the folks at Bloomfield College and Cicely Tyson High School.

A Last Look at MIMI AND GACK  and the Incubator Studio Ends… for now.

Well, I am back in Savannah (for now). The Incubator Studio ended and I sadly said “goodbyes” to the folks at Bloomfield College and Cicely Tyson High School.

Here is a color test that depicts the look of the film...

As always, I want to thank Lynne Oddo, CAT Chair, the intrepid Vinny Potuto. animation instructor and  special processes guru, the students at Bloomfield and  Tyson High and all the family and friends that supported the MIMI AND GACK project.

Now back in Savannah, the time will be spent to revise some scenes, tweak the timing and work with Vinny “UB” Potuto on the finished look of the film. Vinny has already been sending me test after test of ideas for tonal shading and shadows. He is simply AMAZING!!!

The artistic contributions of the students help make this film possible. Their drawings and tireless  efforts have been essential to the Incubator Studio and the film.

The final days of the Studio are the most taxing. As the director, I was  finishing out the scenes and the film and at the same time trying to keep everyone’s head in the game. Toward the end, working on scenes and fixes came in dribs and drabs.

By then, I had identified my “go to folks” whose work was stellar and very dependable. Most of those students had participated on last year’s Studio and PETE’S ODYSSEY.

Bu t the same thing happens in real studios were you depend on those “go to” folks. It was an important aspect for the “newbies” to learn.

Let me give a special shout out to the students at Tyson High

and their efforts at clean-up, scanning and digital coloring of the film. Great Job!

Last but not least to Devrim Ozgur and his crew for being the TecH Guys Supreme. Devrim is the Best!
