Idiots’ Diary #11: Team Idiots Descend on Lower Manhattan

Today's a big day—we've been scouting the local schools for volunteers to help spread the word about Idiots and Angels opening up in NYC on October 6th. We've built a group of 15 or so eager volunteers called "Team Idiots". Their bold mission is to go around midtown and the lower Manhattan area putting up posters and placing stacks of our postcards, so hopefully everyone will be aware of our film opening. It's called guerilla marketing.

Today's a big day—we've been scouting the local schools for volunteers to help spread the word about Idiots and Angels opening up in NYC on October 6th. So through the talents and guidance of Alexia Anastasio, we've built a group of 15 or so eager volunteers called "Team Idiots". Their bold mission is to go around midtown and the lower Manhattan area putting up posters and placing stacks of our postcards, so hopefully everyone will be aware of our film opening. It's called guerilla marketing.

Since my core audiences are art and animation students, we feel that this is the target group for us to utilize in distribution of PR material.

We're hitting clubs, bars, coffee houses, restaurants, cinemas, DVD stores, Laundromats, delis, Chinese restaurants, hardware stores, even McDonald's. We're not proud—any way I can get more people into the cinema.

So stay tuned, my next blog will be about the "Team Idiots" meeting—Oh, I forgot to mention, being on Team Idiots, they will receive a free Team Idiots T-shirt and a cool Plympton DVD.
