Russell Earl, a visual effects supervisor at Industrial Light & Magic, discusses the extensive previs and visual effects work done on Marvel’s 'Captain America: The Winter Soldier' and more as part of AWN’s series of exclusive video interviews from FMX 2014.

As part of AWN’s Professional Spotlight series -- a series of exclusive video interviews shot during FMX 2014 -- here is a candid discussion with Russell Earl, a visual effects supervisor at Industrial Light & Magic. In this two-part interview, Earl talks about ILM’s tremendous body of work on Marvel’s Captain America: The Winter Soldier, including how his team of artists made use of the extensive previs done on the film. Earl’s exemplary work on the movie was recently recognized with an Academy Award nomination, his third such nomination [the others were Star Trek (2009) and Transformers (2007)].
