As part of AWN’s Professional Spotlight series -- a series of exclusive video interviews shot during FMX 2014 -- here is a candid discussion with Oscar-winning animator Jan Pinkava, a director at Google’s Advanced Technology and Projects group (ATAP). In this two-part interview, Jan talks about Google’s ATAP group, billed as pirates, believers and lovers of epic shit, and his role in developing new digital storytelling platforms and technologies. He also discusses today’s animated feature film business and offers words of encouragement for young filmmakers.
