Dear filmmakers and friends of the Stuttgart Festival of Animated Film,
time flies towards the ITFS. And soon the submission deadline for the Animated Com Award 2013 expires! So seize the opportunity to submit your films for the Animated Com Award by the SUBMISSION DEADLINE: February 01, 2013.
The Animated Com Award awards the standard of excellence in the field of animated advertising, technology and spatial communication.

The award ceremony will take place on April 26, 2013 in the Mercedes-Benz Museum Stuttgart.

Special Award Mercedes-Benz Classic: Silver Arrows
As part of the Animated Com Award of the ITFS 2013, a Special Award is offered by the Daimler AG

again – aiming at the myth of the „Silver Arrow“. All interested national and international filmmakers – students from film and animation schools as well as young companies – are invited to animate the famous German Grand Prix racing cars of the 30s and 50s in a personal and innovative way.

CALL FOR PAPERS: Symposium Society of Animation Studies

The one-day academic symposium “Change and Continuity: Interdisciplinary Aspects of Animation, Comics and Literature” is going to take place within the framework of the 20th Stuttgart International Festival of Animated Film (ITFS) on Thursday, April 25, 2013 in the Literaturhaus Stuttgart.

The symposium is negotiating the interdisciplinary influences between literature, comics and animation. It brings together international scholars, students, academics and artists from diverse fields of research and professional practice to create an interdisciplinary dialogue.

The organiser is the Society of Animation Studies, in collaboration with the ITFS. Partners are the School of Art, Design and Media at Nanyang Technological University Singapore, the Institute of Media Studies at Eberhard Karls University Tuebingen and the Literaturhaus Stuttgart.
