Brussels Cartoon and Animated Film
Festival
Each year since 1982 the Brussels Cartoon and Animated Film Festival
has served as a non-competitive framework for the newest and most interesting
works in animation. It provides a unique opportunity for these films to be seen
by Belgian film and TV distributors.
Chaque année depuis 1982, le Festival du dessin animé et du film
d'animation de Bruxelles programme en dehors de toute compétition les
nouveautés les plus intéressantes de la production internationale
en leur offrant une occasion unique de se faire connaître des distributeurs
de film et des télévisions en Belgique.
Sinds 1982 stelt het Festival van de Animatiefilm jaarlijks een programma buiten
competitie samen met de meest interessante en recentste werken van de internationale
animatiefilmprodukties. Het geeft tevens de Belgische film- en televisiedistributeurs
de mogelijkheid met deze produkties kennis te maken.
Cartoon on the Bay - Amalfi
Coordinated by Sacis/RAI, Cartoons on the Bay is the first Italian
animation festival for TV series and is held in the picturesque surrounding
of the Amalfi coast.

Cartoombria Festival
Cartoombria Festival takes place in Perugia, one of the most
beautiful and medieval cities of Italy and not far from Rome and Florence, in
the historic and neo-classic Theatre Pavone. Cartoombria 1998 will happen November
20-22, 1998.
Cinanima - Espinho Film Festival
The Fesival takes place in Espinho, a city by the sea
in the Northern Portugal. The festival includes a competitive programme, retrospectives,
exhibitions and a workshop.
1st International Children Animation Festival
"Goldfish"
1er Festival International d'Animation pour Enfants "Le Poisson d'Or"
1996: Visit the site of the1st International
Children Animation Festival, the "Goldfish Festival". The Festival
takes place in Nijni-Novgorod (400 kilometres East of Moscow). The festival's
goal is to further the relationships between children's animation artists from
around the world.
Holland Animation Film Festival
Established in 1985, the biennial festival promotes animated
film towards a general as well as a professional audience. Besides the presentation
of recent films, retrospectives and thematic programmes, the festival aims to
be an intermediary between filmmakers and the business world. There is a unique
competition for applied animation.
Het tweejaarlijkse festival heeft een internationaal aanbod van kwalitatief
hoogwaardige animatiefilms. Het festival streeft ernaar de onafhankelijke en
toegepaste animatiefilm onder de aandacht te brengen van publiek en bedrijfsleven,
onder meer door een unieke internationale competitie voor toegepaste animatie.

Edition 1996: Tous les deux ans, le Festival de Marly-le-Roi se veut la vitrine
régulière de l'animation française. En deux jours, il tente
de présenter un panorama aussi exhaustif que possible de la production
française contemporaine. Tout film répondant aux critères
du cinéma "image par image" y est le bienvenu ! Le festival
présente en effet aussi bien les films produits par des professionnels
que ceux réalisés par des amateurs, ou des élèves
dans le cadre d'ateliers.
Masters of Animation 1997
Scarecrow Video is proud to announce
its newest film series, which in the past has included such acclaimed filmmakers
as John Woo, Werner Herzog, Nicolas Roeg and Wim Wenders. The Masters of Animation
is a four day extravaganza with international and local directors from all generations
and animation disciplines. Over 20 renowned artists will converge on Seattle
to share and celebrate their works; the program includes seminars, special tributes

The First Nordic
Forum
The result of a meeting which took place in Oslo in April 1997,
which brought together a broad spectrum of professionals from the Nordic media
industry. Broadcasters, producers, animators, directors, writers and representatives
of educational institutions came together to discuss the rapid developments
of the animation industry and how their respective professions could possibly
adapt to further develop their niche.
Ottawa International
Animation Festival
Ottawa 98 took place on September 28-October 4, 1998 in
Ottawa. The Ottawa International Animation Festival, North America's most prestigous
animation event, will feature a number of new events and promises to be bigger
than ever.
SAFO Student Animation Festival of Ottawa
The world's first ever international student animation festival! This year's
event takes place October 21-24, 1999.
Valladolid International Film Festival
The Valladolid International Film Festival is held in the lively
capital of the region of Castille and Leon some 120 miles north west of Madrid.
Amongst its many sections and sidebars, the Official Section is a panorama of
current international cinema with 16 to 20 features and an equal number of shorts
in competition.
