PIXAR IS LOOKING FOR BOTH CHARACTER ANIMATORS AND TECHNICAL DIRECTORS for their current projects. They are looking for experienced animators with traditional training, storytelling skills and acting ability. They are also looking for technical directors with a computer science background, experience in 3D computer graphics and the ability to model, light or write shaders. STUDIO 3D0 HAS SEVERAL JOB OPENINGS including:
ANIMATION DIRECTOR
to supervise 3D animators on a video game project. Teach traditional animators the production process for creating a video game. Direct 2D and 3D animation. Responsible for a portion of the 3D animation. Depending on experience, serve as animation guru for whole Studio.
The candidate should have 3-5 years in the video game industry. Traditionally trained in 2D and 3D character animation. 2+ years as a supervisor, lead artist or teacher. Experience with 3D software, 3D Studio Max preferred. Start immediately.
SENIOR ART DIRECTOR responsible for directing artwork in support of product development through a staff of computer graphic artists and animators. Oversees the determination and implementation of software choices, graphics animation, and interface configuration for products. Coordinate staffing of team. Delegate art assignments. Develop and track art schedule with Director. Help problem solve with technical aspects. Contributes, as needed to overall studio graphics planning and training. Report progress to Director and Art Chief.
Candidate should have 5 to 10 years experience in video game or CD-ROM art direction, preferably in the entertainment field. Familiarity with operating Alias, 3D Studio or Nichimen software on the PC preferred. Versatile in a variety of styles from abstract to realistic. Accustomed to design and paint programs. Good leadership and communication skills. Motion capture knowledge, PC game experience and/or internet experience strong pluses. BFA or equivalent experience. Start early to mid-Sept.
STUDIO ART MANAGER Serves as Studio art personnel manager. Recruits and hires artists for all projects. Coordinates artists' assignments to titles, training, etc. Plans strategic use of art resources. Consults on 3rd party developers' art creation. Coordinates yearly reviews. Determines which conferences and skill training are needed. Designs training for artists.
Candidate should be a veteran in video game or CD-ROM art direction and animation direction. Familiarity with operating 3D software on multiple platforms. Long term management experience. Accustomed to volumetric work and exacting requirements. Good leadership and communication skills necessary. Teaching experience and Motion Capture knowledge a strong plus. Start immediately.
