Monday, March 31, 7 & 9:30 PM, a series of new and old experimental shorts in 35mm including three newly restored works by MARY ELLEN BUTE, Rhythm in Light, Polkagraph and Spook Sport plus the premiere of a film by Pat O'Neil. Mary Ellen Bute produced non-objective films set to music in the 1930's for Radio City Music Hall. She rarely had enough money and time to do what she wanted, but her work is a rare treat that delighted audiences during the depression era. Unfortunately her work is rarely discussed or shown. If you are impressed by Oskar Fischinger, check out the work of this talented artist from New York City. The show is at the Roxie and is being presented by the Cinemateque.
