On A Desert Island With. . . . Comic Book Guys?
This month we heard from the following
people when we posed the question, "What ten films would you want to
have with you if stranded on a desert island?" Brösel (aka Rötger
Feldmann) created and illustrates the comic book, Werner,
a character who has now starred in three animated features since his comic
book debut. Gregory Noveck is Senior Vice President of Production at Platinum
Studios. He is currently working on Legs Weaver, the Animated Series.
Robinson Crusoe is a purely fictional character who bears no resemblance to
persons living or dead.

Robinson Crusoe's picks:
I picked one film for each year I was on my island.
1. Wackiki Wabbit by Chuck Jones. Bugs Bunny is stranded with two
guys who want to eat him. I knew the feeling that first year.
2. The Isle of Pingo-Pongo by Tex Avery. Jokes about island life.
What else could I do, but laugh?
3. The Island by Feodor Khitruk. A critique of capitalism. I became
a rebel in my third year.
4. Betty Boop's Bamboo Isle (Fleischer). Betty Boop does the hula.
I did a lot of daydreaming that year.
5. It Happened to Crusoe (Unknown). Jack Benny has a case of mistaken
identity. Or was it me?
6. Popeye the Sailor Meets Sinbad the Sailor (Fleischer). Once again,
Popeye battles Bluto. But this time it's on an island!
7. Frank Duck Brings 'em Back Alive (Disney). Donald Duck meets wildman
Goofy. Or was that me?
8. That year is a complete blank.
9. Rabbitson Crusoe by Friz Freleng. Freleng modeled the look of
Bugs after me.
10. Goon Land (Fleischer). Popeye rescues his pappy from an island.
It was about time he remembered me.
