Animha Productions has presented a series of production workshops
at the Civic Hall, Crook, County Durham.
These workshops were attended by children
aged 9 to 11 years from Peases West Primary School.
Six short films were produced on the theme of
"Impressions of the area where we live".
The events took place over two weeks in October 1998
and 22 children were involved.
A variety of subjects were brought to life
through model animation
including the children`s own interpretations of the
local market, town fair and street life.
The primary aim of the project was to provide a
stimulating, exciting and creative environment
and enable youngsters to make an imaginative exploration
of the place where they live.
A screening of the work took place on Monday 8th November,1998 in the Civic Hall.
The project is supported by
Wear Valley Arts, Durham County Council, and Northern Arts.
