Video Production Workshops
for students with additional support needs



Animha Productions joined forces with Jack Drum Arts
for a project which has enabled students with additional support needs
to produce an animated video for use by their peers
and help them make important career choices.

The production workshops programme involved young people
at Bishop Auckland College, County Durham.

This was an arts/media project incorporating
innovative collaborations between Artists from the world of
film animation, music, fine arts and drama.

The primary aim of the project was to provide
a stimulating, exciting and creative environment
to enable youngsters to make a practical contribution to careers education
for students with additional support needs in the County.

The production workshops took place on in May 1998
and the video resource has now been successfully completed
and distributed to all schools with special needs in the Region.

It is also expected to be distributed Nationally in the UK.

MOVING ON - MY CHOICE was screened at the
Royal Television Society Annual Awards 1999 in Newcastle Civic Centre
and received a special commendation from the panel.

The project was commissioned by County Durham Careers Service.
