OVER THE MOON
ASIFA WORKSHOPS GROUP PRODUCTION 2002
Animha participates in the ASIFA CHILDRENS WORKSHOPS PROJECTS which
involves the creation of a series of short animated films by children from
around the world. These compilations are then shown at major International
animation film festivals including Annecy, Hiroshima and many others.
Here in England we have involved children from all over the region
in a number of ASIFA projects including this one... Images of Moon.
Kids from Tees Valley, enjoyed a series of production workshops at
Saltburn Theatre involving shadow puppetry and digital film animation.
This international collaboration created a compilation of several films made by
children, based on the theme of "Images of Moon". Similar to previous successful
projects which featured the creations of children in 13 countries, the "Images of Moon"
project aimed to exchange experiences among people doing film animation with kids
around the world. With this particular theme we aimed to promote creativity among
children as well as encourage them to search for their own cultural roots.

Here in England we took the well know English nursery rhyme `Hey Diddle Diddle`
as our starting point and asked some quite profound questions such as....
`why did the cow jump over the moon?`, and we came up with a very imaginative story
involving aliens and a spaceship!

All the children`s films where compiled into a special programme and screened together
at the 9th Japanese International Animation Film Festival,
Hiroshima 2002.
The UK Premiere of "Over the Moon" took place at the
AnimexInternational Animation Film Festival in Middlesbrough 2003
