BOXX Technologies announced GoBOXX, a new high-performance mobile workstation built specifically for the needs of digital content creation, is now shipping.

Visual effects shop Eden FX has expanded its production team by naming Andrea D'Amico as exec producer. In her new post, D'Amico will specialize in the production of feature film visual effects. Regarding her new position, she says, "Eden FX has an excellent track record in long-form television visual effects and recently made an impressive entrée into the feature world by providing over 200 fx shots for HELLBOY, and a beautiful fx shot for THE PASSION OF THE CHRIST.

As part of its current expansion drive, KromA has promoted Adam Fisher to visual effects artist. He had been an assistant artist with the studio for two years. Fisher recently served as lead artist on three music video projects for director Benny Boom, including WHAT IF? from AMERICAN IDOL winner Rubin Studdard. He was also part of a team of artists who performed compositing work for the Britney Spears' TOXIC video and the Busta Rhymes video LIGHT YOUR ASS ON FIRE, both directed by Joseph Kahn, as well as the Exies video MY GODDESS directed by Diane Martel.

Taking THE ANIMATRIX a step further, Universal Home Ent Prods. has created an original animated DVD prequel, VAN HELSING: LONDON ASSIGNMENT, which seques right into the just released VAN HELSING feature. The unrated, 33-minute LONDON ASSIGNMENT (Universal Studios Home Video, $14.98), which streets May 11, 2004, boasts the participation of Stephen Sommers and Bob Ducsay (the exec producers who directed and produced the feature), and cast members Hugh Jackman (Van Helsing), David Wenham (Friar Carl), Robbie Coltrane (Mr. Hyde) and Alun Armstrong (the cardinal).

Rebecca Ramsey, a producer with broad experience in commercials, feature films, theatrical trailers and broadcast media, has joined Steele VFX as exec producer. Ramsey will supervise the company's production team, oversee in-house production and manage bidding. She will also assist in new business development and will support Steele VFX's expansion effort, which targets growth both in the company's core markets-commercials and music videos-and in motion picture trailers, broadcast promotions and effects work for features and television.

Alias announced that the Maya Complete 6 and the Maya Unlimited 6 software are now shipping globally to all new and upgrading customers. Customers on Alias' maintenance program were first able to download the software on April 26. Debuted at NAB. Maya 6 responds to the everyday production demands of 3D artists in the film, broadcast, game development, digital publishing and visualization markets.
