Now it can be done in a matter of hours as today DAZ 3D announces the release of both DAZ Studio 4 Advanced and Pro – the latest versions of its character creation, art and animation tool.

This presentation will show you how to set up 3D cameras and their rigs. There will also be an explanation of the integration of the workflow process from previs in 3D to shooting in 3D from an exciting list of top industry people who have shot in 3D Stereoscopic films. You'll also view some new and exciting 3D footage.

Moderator will be Lenny Lipton, who is Chief Technology Officer at RealD and will give an overview of technology process.

Empire Upgrades Shadow Vision To 3D

In response to consumer demand and requests from key theater chains at the Showest convention in Las Vegas last week, Empire Film Group has announced that it will upgrade its current production of SHADOW VISION to conform with the popular new Real D 3D theatrical format from Real D Cinema.

Recently released films in the Real D 3D format include BEOWULF and HANNAH MONTANA, both of which generated record-breaking per screen averages from 3D locations, eight times greater box office revenues than standard format theaters.

RealD 3D Big At ShoWest

RealD 3D, the global leader in 3D, continued its innovations in 3D cinema at the ShoWest film conference with spectacular demonstrations of its RealD XL larger-screen technology, which allows RealD's next-generation 3D experience to reach screens over 60 feet wide with a single projector.

RealD XL was first unveiled at the November 5, 2007 premiere of Paramount Pictures' BEOWULF in Los Angeles.

3D Festival Announces 2004 Event

3D Festival 2004, Europe's largest convention and exhibition for the creative 3D industry, will happen May 3-6, 2004 at Bella Center in Copenhagen, Denmark. The festival encompasses animation, post-production, digital visual effects, games, architectural visualization and design. Leonard Teo, md, Ballistic Media Pty Ltd., will chair the conferences, with organizer Jimmy Hassel taking an advisory role.

Electric Rain Releases New Swift 3D For MAC OS X

Electric Rain Inc. has launched Swift 3D version 3.0 for Mac OS X. Swift 3D is a standalone application for designers to build and export 3D animations to the Macromedia Flash (SWF) file format, as well as other major vector and raster formats.

"Electric Rain is proud to broaden its support for the Mac community by making Swift 3D available for Mac OS X," said Electric Rain president Mike Soucie. "Swift 3D is a powerful 3D authoring tool that becomes even more compelling when paired with Mac OS X and its advanced capabilities."

International 3D Awards Nominees Announced

Nominees for the 1st Annual International 3D Awards have been announced and Jason Schleifer, animation lead at Weta Digital (LORD OF THE RINGS), will host the Short Films category at the ceremony to be held in the evening, May 9, 2003 at the 3D Festival 2003 in Copenhagen, Denmark. Schleifer also chaired and oversaw the judging process for the Short Films category with an international panel of jury members from the 3D industry. The short film nominees are: - SHOW & TELL, Kapow Pictures, Australia- THE CHUBBCHUBBS, Sony Pictures Imageworks, USA

PentaMedia Presents 3D Pics

Indias Pentamedia Graphics Ltd. will present a slate of animated movies, home videos and series at NATPE 2002 including the new 3D animated feature ALIBABA AND THE FORTY THIEVES. The company is currently in production on SINBAD AND THE SECRET OF COLONIS, the 3D animated sequel to SINBAD: BEYOND THE VEIL OF MISTS.

422 Ltd and Inkworks Bring Cel Look to 3D Animation Spots

Manchester, UKs 422 Ltd. used Cambridge Animation Systems' Inkworks software to achieve a traditional cel look in 3D for two recent projects. Mr. T is a 30-second commercial produced by Equinox Film & TV Productions and directed by Gary Cowan for the Accident Group, a compensation claims company. Mr. T was first modeled in Maya and prepared for animation using the software's set-driven keys and animation features. Once the pace of the animation was determined, Inkworks was used on the outlines and scenes were painted with the Maya renderer to achieve a cel look.
